Memorial Day

Today we remember those we loved that have passed on.  For most, they remember our armed forces people that have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.  For some, they recognize all the service men who fight for our country, both now and previously (I actually read a slightly disturbed post about this on facebook).  For me, I remember all the people in my life who have been my heroes.  I think Memorial Day is one of those days that can be shared amongst many.

So, what did we do today?  We also remembered all of those living people who couldn't be with us!  We celebrated by spending the day amongst family and friends that we are blessed to know.  Mr. Sun cooperated, so they kids spent HOURS (not 5 minutes) in the pool that Jeff filled for them.  Maka got to blow bubbles, a couple of them took a walk to pick "cherries", the water gun was in great use and got Chase as he walked down the sidewalk, and the floaties were brought out and put to use.  A movie played on the big screen until later in the day when the Xbox 360 took over.  Food and great company were plentiful.  Oh yeah, the Wii dominated the dining room.

Those that we thought about:  Goose (in Japan), Leo (working), Melissa (in New York on her honeymoon).
